Memories of an early Eurythmy pupil

Dear Jean,

It was over 40 years ago that my footsteps were guided to the Eurythmy Room on the top floor of Rudolf Steiner House, London.

Maybe you can recall that although I was a cooperative pupil, my thoughtless remarks about the gestures displayed a gross lack of awareness.

You glided past my rudeness that first year, and in the second year I learned not to be so dismissive of esoteric imaginations.

Do you recall the time you told me of a wonder filled revelation by the seaside?

Your experience, as you sat on the rocks overlooking the Irish Sea, (were you a teacher on the Scilly Isles then?) the sun sparkling on the waving waters, the shining dame of the heavens above, and the light of Revelation in your Heart?

You had responded to my retelling of my experience by the seaside in Ireland, and we can both acknowledge, as we did then, ‘The mysteries of becoming human persons is a cosmic reality. each one of us is involved; the light in your eyes, the warmth in your heart, the affirming encouragements in your voice, true affirmations, of soul becomings….

How different these things can be expressed now.

And I was one of your many pupils until 1973.

We learned so much from you…

And it was through my dear friend Margaret Duberley, that my footsteps were guided to helping you, in your home, and when you moved into the upstairs room at Trigonos.

Such are the journeys of souls on earth a’seeking to fulfil, through one another, the opportunities of destiny.

God bless,

Geoffrey Orson
